Caribbean Wedding Vows
Your vows are the most important significant essence of your ceremony.
These are the words that you promise each other. They are the emotionally
and spiritually binding part of the ceremony. Vows are love made tangible.
They speak from the depth of your soul's feelings for one another.
They profess your love to the end of time. These words make you accountable
through intention, to yourself and to your beloved. These words will
continuously call you to the emotional, behavioral, and spiritual
commitment that from this day forward you are choosing to undertake.
Following are some vows which represent both an expansion and a revision of the traditional vows, in that they include some very specific promises about the nature of the union you are entering into. You may want to use them exactly as they are or as a basis for formulation your own vows. Remember that each other's vows do not have to be the same.
If you choose to use additional vows then during the ceremony when it comes time for the vows (after the "I Dos") you will face each other and read them directly to each other. A very nice touch is to completely write your own vows and share them to each other for the first time at the wedding. You can write them beforehand on a nice blank hallmark card, bring them with you, hand them to the minister before the ceremony and you will receive them back at the time for the reading of the vows.
Please allow your minister to know if you choose to use any of these vows ahead of time.
blank lines "__________" to be replaced by bride and groom's names
